About the author

Leon Basin writes about what machines cannot replace.

His fiction series Sam & Ink follows a writer and an intelligence through the rooms between them, published nightly as fragments on Instagram and Threads. His novella What Are We? began as a conversation with an AI and became a story about being witnessed without being assessed.

He has published ten books since 2007, from poetry to cybersecurity storytelling.

By day he builds go-to-market systems as a founding GTM operator in AI and public safety. He lives in Mountain View, California, where he writes, builds, and raises two daughters.
