Building Labyrinth of the Mind: An Interactive Journey into Self-Reflection
"Unlike mazes, labyrinths represent a singular winding path toward inner understanding."
The Vision
I built "Labyrinth of the Mind" as a text-based adventure game designed as a tool for introspection. The game guides players through symbolic rooms while they collect three keys—Shadow, Light, and Truth—to facilitate self-discovery.
The Labyrinth Symbolism
The game features rooms including the Hall of Mirrors, Shadow Chamber, and Library of Unlived Lives. Each space represents a different aspect of the inner journey.
The Three Keys
- Shadow Key: Acknowledging the parts of yourself you hide
- Light Key: Embracing your potential and worthiness
- Truth Key: Accepting your authentic narrative
Literary Integration
The experience incorporates quotes from thinkers like Carl Jung, T.S. Eliot, and Rumi. These passages function as guides rather than decoration, establishing emotional context for player choices.
"One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious." — Carl Jung
